Spotorno stem is a tapered straight cementless stem: Spotorno stem achieved initial stability by wedging a proxirnal fluted, straight stem ¡tito a retained bed of femoral trabecular aiid cortical bojie, rectangular cross section provides excellent rotational stability distaily. The titanium-aluminurn-niobium alloy enables the fast ongrowth of newly formed osseous tissue to act as secondary stabilization This retrospective study reviews 26 Spotorno stetns, the mean follow-up vas 134 months. Clinical results were graded excellent anci good in 93 per cent of hips. At follow-up, none patient presented radiological evidence of aseptie stem loosening and 100 per cent of stems showed stable fixation.
