The Environmental Education in the courses of studies of Biological Sciences of the Argentine universities

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to carry out a survey about the incorporation of the environmental dimension in the training of the professional biologist. A comparative diagnosis among the courses of studies of Biology in different Argentinean universities, highlighting the potential and limitations in the incorporation of environmental contents in the already mentioned training was carried out. Four “bridge elements” were identified as the central aim of this work. The studies plan of the Licensee in Biology of several argentinean public and private universities was analyzed.The concerns and profile of the graduate of each university and the subjects that presented a priori and environmental profile were looked through. With all the gathered information, the first step of the FODA technique was carried out as a conclusion.
