Abstract

The book “Dogs and other canids of the Americas. Origin, evolution and natural history” offers us the opportunity to learn some ideas regarding the relationships between dogs (and other canids) and humans. From the perspectives of different disciplines, the phenomenon of the "dog" becomes complex, integrating contributions from biology, anthropology and other fields. The explanations that are included in its chapters constitute a valuable opportunity to rethink some of the contents of biology teaching.
