Abstract

Chagas' disease is a Latin America cndemic diimss. After several decades of insecticide spraying, Chagas
prevalence dcereasecl mn several countries as a consequenee of the elimination of jis vectors (Triatoniinae bugs) from fonnerly highly infested arcas. Now, the challenge is tn maintain efficient lvels of epidemiological surveillanee in order lo kccp su!l or very 10w the vectorial transmnission of the disease. Thisaruele presents an eclucational proposal lo he applied al the highcst level of the EGB. The goal is lo involve children as surveillance agents lo dctect iriatomnine hugs iii houses and peridomestic siructures. Thc proposal ¡las heen partially carried out al the School 270 of Anjullón (La Rioja); preliminamy results arediscussed.
