Abstract

In this paper we develop the analysis of a Comprehensive Sexual Education experience with a gender approach, being developed in a middle school under the responsibility of a Biological Sciences teacher. The research project aims to explore, through different case studies, the possibilities and obstacles of teaching “sexual health” topics from a comprehensive non-medical approach. In this case study, we have identified great progress in the ethical and social perspectives of addressing sexual topics but sometimes, there still exists an innocent and uncritical scientism that regards the results of biological or medical research as neutral, contradicting in this sense the starting point of the so adopted gender approach.
