Abstract

The initial formation of teachers is largely constituted by apprenticeship, which is also supervised by the teacher of basic education. The overall objective of the paper was to discuss the apprenticeship of the degree course in Biological Sciences at UFV with basic education teachers, supervisors of trainees. Within the results, the apprenticeship concepts among teachers were identified, and the most frequent was at the Preliminary stage. Another focus of research is the trainees’ assessment by their work. It was found that the apprenticeship is regarded as an aid to the teachers’ work, but it has some negative structural aspects that should be discussed with schools in order to build a more horizontal relationship between university and school, investing more in teachers’ formation.
