A Study Regarding Teaching through Investigation at the Basic Level: The Ants’ Case

Abstract

The present study was accomplished with Brazilian students from the basic education through the development of a didactically sequence systematic followed by the investigative teaching perspective. The didactically sequence was guided on the issue: “why do ants walk in a row?’’. The students who participate issued hypothesis and took part of several didactical strategies to solve the problem. Analyzing the results, it was noticed that, despite some difficulty, the investigative approach is a dynamic and significant knowledge builder efficient tool.
