Abstract

Specific Language Impairment (SLI) is a phenomenon that impacts a significant amount of the population arround world. This disorder affects only linguistic abilities, mainly those related to the use of the language in communicative instances. Despite this, most of the studies have focused on the analysis of morphosyntactic and lexical deficiencies in hypothetical situations. This has left aside levels of language that consider sentence relationships and contextual relationships. In addition this studies only focus on the child and adolescent population. Very few investigations develop research in other age groups, which deprives the production of knowledge and, likewise, of public policies focused on different age ranges. Therefore, this bibliographic review aims to analyze the textual impact of SLI in young adults. Thus, it is intended to promote research that has a textual or discursive approach to the indicated disorder. These investigations are expected to produce knowledge about the functioning of the language itself, develop better methodologies for the study of the disorder as well as for its measurement, and serve as a basis for the elaboration of public policies.
