Abstract

The article proposes in the first place, a review of the beginning of cinema and the first projection of the Lumière cinematograph. The article revises certain beliefs and facts that have marked the history of cinema, such as those referring to the most famous capturesight of the Lumière, “The arrival of a train to La Ciotat”, or the participation of Antoine Lumière, father of Louis and Auguste. Regarding these facts, the article tries to raise the problematic of the different ways of narrating the history the cinematographic phenomenon in Histories of World Cinema. Finally, the article proposes a reflection upon the cinematographic phenomenon, regarding technological development and the speeches produced by the new devices as ideological representations.

    Emilio Hernán Ortiz Suárez es oriundo de San Luis y desde 1993 reside en Córdoba dónde se graduó como Técnico Productor en Medios Audiovisuales y Licenciado en Cine y TV - Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Arg. En el 2001 y 2002 recibió consecutivamente dos becas BAS XXI (Becas Arte siglo XXI) del Gobierno de la Provincia de San Luis para realizar sus primeros trabajos artísticos profesionales en la realización audiovisual. Actualmente se encuentra perfeccionándose en docencia universitaria como profesor adscripto en Historia del Cine y Problemáticas de la Producción Artística en el Depto. de Cine de la Fac. de Artes y cursando el Doctorado en Artes de la Facultad de Filosofía y Humanidades, UNC
