Abstract

In order to preserve documents that are part of Cultural Heritage, the National Jesuit Museum of Jesus Maria, in keeping with its mission, implemented from 2005, Preservation and Conservation Policy, which ensures the survival of the documents for the future. Guidelines were established to deal with collections, evaluating storage conditions mediated by the location, architectural features, environmental and design an appropriate plan of conservation and preservation. In the implementation of the project, financial, administrative and human resources, made possible the application of methods and techniques concerning the preservation of documentary heritage. The purpose of a conservation plan is to ensure accessibility to various types of documents produced in the socio - cultural context of late colonial and colonial. These collections contain valuable personal testimony and teaching.
