Abstract

Cuban independence process in 1898 can be analized from a wide variety of edges. Battles to end with the domain of Spain have generated a series of investigations in both sides of the ocean. In this particular case, the intention is to complement the studies related to the receipt of the aforementioned 98 Cuban press in Argentina. Specifically its questioned a rather elaborate journalistic source called Cuba Libre and its continuation La República de Cuba. The speeches and the interventions coming from these sources present an alternative view to the one most developed by the nineteenth-century press
