The “Vallentin Report” (1905): key piece of a global corpus

Between 1903 and 1905 the German explorer Wilhelm Vallentin made a trip across South America. This trip was dedicated to the developing of a project of "Germanic Colony" in the Patagonia, with the support of the Argentinean government. Vallentin published a report on his travel, assessing the population capacity and evaluating the area. One of the main objectives of the present work is to present Vallentin’s Report since there are only two copies in the world. We also describe and systemize the general work of this author, in order to formulate a hypothesis about the relevance of this report within his broader production, practically neglected by international historiography.
