Necrotizing Fasciitis caused by Streptococcus Pyogenes: a case report

Necrotizing fasciitis caused by group A Streptococcus is an uncommon infection of the subcutaneous tissue and fascia, with a high mortality rate due to its rapid progression to shock and multiorgan failure. It usually develops in extremities after trauma or previous injury. Early diagnosis is essential as well as fast and aggressive management. We present a case of rapidly evolving necrotizing fasciitis despite the early diagnosis and specific treatment established.Downloads
