Author Biography

Macarena Murugarren, National University of Córdoba

Macarena Murugarren is an intersex activist and holds a degree in Modern Literature from the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities of the National University of Córdoba. She is a member of Potencia Intersex, an activist group in Mapuche-Argentine territory, and is part of the Project "Emotions, temporalities, images: towards a critique of neoliberal sensibility", based at the Research Center of the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities and directed by Dr. Eduardo Mattio. In her work she investigates the representations of intersex bodies in various aesthetic practices and their potential to modify the pathologizing narratives that frame these corporealities in culture.
