Introduction

Abstract

Although the queer theory has been in the academic field for more than three decades, the greater awareness of social struggles that arose in the previous years, as well as occurrences such as the 2023 bill to ban homosexuality in Uganda, make queer theory an unavoidable point of view when approaching students academic production. The issue of this new volume of Alma Máter, the outbreak of cuir theory in language studies, proposes a recovery (coming up from another view, more extensive and disruptive) of the queries and concerns that cross our field of studies. The seven items that this new volume of Alma Máter displays open, in this regard, a place of critical and liminal reflection, within which one can think and re-think how we locate ourselves in our world.
