Abstract

Abstract

In Chilean colonial and post-independence manuscripts we find terms, or meanings of said terms, that have not been collected by any of the most relevant dictionaries of our language. In the present work, we make a brief lexicological tour of ayudas and lavativas and realize that the meaning of 'mouthwash', according to how Fray Andrés uses it, does not appear in any of the Spanish-language dictionaries studied.
