Abstract

Since far-off times, the appearance of cataracts has been a frequent cause of loss of sight. And although the eye is a delicate organ, cataracts have been approached with surgical procedures since very old times. There were distinguished researchers who contributed to the knowledge and progress of the specialty as well as to the correct treatment of cataracts. This work, with a retrospective look, takes us back to some famous professionals in the field of ophthalmology and three well-known patients: Bach; Haendel and San Martín
