This article was originally published in Punto de Vista in August 1994. It is not difficult to confirm, given the number of times it is quoted in other texts that, despite the time gone by since its first publishing, it has not lost its significance for approaching problems concerning film representation of historical events. Nonetheless, it was, until now, unavailable on the web and difficult to find in libraries. For this reason we decided, with the permission of its author, to republish it in this first issue of Toma Uno. We are grateful to Raul Beceyro for this generous contribution.
