"Building responses to gender-based violence in universities". Presentation of the Thematic Dossier

Abstract

In national universities, regulations, protocols and action plans have been approved, testing various strategies that seek to respond to the violence that occurs in these spaces. However, there is still a gap between the rights expressed in the approved resolutions and ordinances and the daily practices, which still show great resistance in their implementation and appropriation by the different agents that make up this community. This publication includes articles presented by authors from different national and Latin American universities, with diverse backgrounds, experiences, knowledge and a common concern: the recognition and full exercise of rights, to a life free of violence in the university space. The call invited to share readings, debates, challenges and strategies around the approach of cisheteropatriarchal violence in universities, with nine articles that give an account of readings and responses that are being built around this problem.
