Abstract

On July 14, 2020 -in this strange year of the pandemic-, the Breaking News of the websites of Binghamton University and Latin American and Caribbean Area Studies (LACAS), among other groups of professors and activists, announced shortly after noon, the death of María Lugones at the Syracuse Hospital, where she was hospitalized (Maldonado-Torres, 2020; University of Binghamton, 2020). Since that day, many journalistic articles have been dedicated to her as a tribute, both in our country and in the U.S. For our part, we only want to acknowledge a compatriot who was able to open a new theoretical and practical space in the fight against racism, sexism and all kinds of discrimination.
