Resumo

O comprometimento cognitivo é uma síndrome que diminui a independência funcional afetando a cognição, as habilidades motoras e emocionais.

Objetivo: Destacar o valor de uma abordagem abrangente da psicoimunoendocrinologia (PINE/PNIE), para a compreensão, prevenção e manejo do comprometimento cognitivo.

A perda das capacidades cognitivas tem uma evolução neurodegenerativa lenta e progressiva, sendo a sua expressão máxima a demência. É um problema de saúde relacionado à idade e está associado à obesidade como fator de risco. Portanto, constitui um crescente desafio de saúde pública global, à medida que o envelhecimento populacional e a prevalência global de obesidade aumentam.

Conclusões: Uma abordagem da psicoimunoendocrinologia, que inclua aspectos psicossociais, metabólicos, endócrinos e manutenção de um peso saudável, poderia ajudar a melhorar a qualidade de vida das pessoas, prevenindo o aparecimento de deterioração cognitiva ou reduzindo a gravidade dos sintomas até idades muito avançadas. avançado.
