A series of 14 total hip arthroplasties using the ccmentlesss Spotorno expansivo acetabular cornponent vas perlornied to treat
post traumatie osteoarthrosis that had developecl fc>] lowing an acetahular fracture. 'I'he mean ace of the patients al the time of the arthroplasty was 47 years (range 28-77 ycars). Rey. I'ac. ('mac. Mcd ('úrdoba 57 (1) 81-88 - 2000 This study vas perfarmend hetwecn 1989 to 1999 ( 11 years) , and the mean fa! low-up was 4 years and 9 months. (Tlinical results were evaluated hy,Mene d'Auhigné and Poste] seale, wieh revealed that 78. 501 of the patients presented good and very good results. The radiological evalualion hased on DeLee and Charnlc.y entena demostrated a radio-lucent-lin in 3 patients. According lo the results ohtained
in the series the authors conel Lided thai the traumatic acetabular ostcoarthrosis can be proper]y hanidled with the Spotnrno acetabul ar con-iponent vhen arlhroplastv is indicated.
