Abstract

Taking in consideration the critical situation of river basins and the ecosystems that surround them, the articles gathered in this dossier seek ways of thinking-with fluvial matter, linking artistic, theoretical and militant practices. They do so by disputing the dominant forms of governance of river basins carried out by the "hydrological States" from collective imaginations that point to the hydrocommon; making the archives of contemporary art fluid and refusing any stagnant representation of the region; as well as producing deviations in the foundational narratives that figured from the fluvial their nation imaginaries.

Author Biographies

Mónica Bernabé, Universidad Nacional de Rosario - Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas

Mónica Bernabé holds a PhD in Literature from the University of Buenos Aires, is a researcher at the Instituto de Estudios Críticos en Humanidades (IECH; UNR - CONICET), Professor of Ibero-American Literature II at the Faculty of Humanities and Arts of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario. She published Por otro lado. Ensayos en el límite de la literatura (Mexico, 2017); Juan Croniqueur, el otro de José Carlos Mariátegui (Lima, 2017); Vidas de artista. Bohemia y dandismo en Mariátegui, Valdelomar y Eguren (Beatriz Viterbo Editora / Instituto de Estudios Peruanos, 2006). She coordinated En el borde del mundo. Vanguards of archive in Latin America (Rosario, 2017). She wrote the prologue to Idea crónica. Literatura de no ficción iberoamericana, coordinated by María Sonia Cristoff. She directs a transdisciplinary research group: - Archivo y región. Estudios transdisciplinarios del impulso archivístico en la literatura y el arte del litoral. She was Academic Coordinator of the Master in Cultural Studies at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies (CEI-UNR) (2010-2019). In 2011 she was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship. In 2016 she received an Honorable Mention in Essay at the VIII International Literature Contest "Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz".

Franca Maccioni , Universidad Nacional de Córdoba - Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas

Franca Maccioni holds a PhD in Letters from the National University of Córdoba, is an assistant researcher at CONICET (IDH -CONICET, UNC) and Assistant Professor of Aesthetics and Modern Literary Criticism at the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities of the National University of Córdoba. Since 2019 she directs, as responsible researcher, the research project "Entre lenguas, entre ríos. Aproximaciones al imaginario estético-político material del Río Paraná en la literatura y el arte contemporáneo" which has a PICT-Foncyt grant. She compiled, with Javier Martínez Ramacciotti, the book Hacer. Ensayos sobre el recomenzar (Teseo, 2015). She has participated in several collective publications on poetry and philosophy. In 2021 she received an honorable mention from the FNA in the category Ensayos del Concurso de Letras for the book "Una fluvialidad de contraamparo. Informe poético sobre el río Paraná", which is in press. She is also a member of the research team "Perspectivas materialistas. Un abordaje crítico de escrituras contemporáneas" directed by Dr. Milone. She is a member of the editorial committee of Prebanda Ediciones.
