Abstract

Archaeological evidences from unit 3, sector I of Punta de la Peña 9 site at Antofagasta de la Sierra (Catamarca) are analyzed. Three agro-pastoralist occupations are described, showing different ways of using the structure internal space for a brief lapse, from ca. 1400 years BP to, probably, ca. 1100 years BP. Relationships with residential sites from the low basin and intermediate zones of Antofagasta de la Sierra are established. Finally, evidences of interaction with groups from Puna, mesotermal valleys and rain forest, are pointed.
