Procedence of Obsidian Artifacts from Archaeological Contexts of Antofagasta de la Sierra (Ca. 4500-3500 BP)

Abstract
This papar presents the resultsofprovenance analysisofobsidian artefactsfrom archaeological sitas of Antofagasta de la Sierra (Argen fine Son thern Puna) datad between 4500 and 3500 years BP. These sitas are: Punta de la Peña 4, Peñas Chicas 1.1 y Peñas Chicas 1.3. It is important to note that it talks about contexts relatad with hunter-gatherers in transition to an agro-pastoral way of life. The methodology employed in the provenance determination is instrumental neutron activation analysis. The results are comparad with others obtained in previous studies for the occupations after 2000 years BP.
