Dados digitais em arqueologia e comunidades indígenas: um olhar a partir de uma perspectiva colaborativa

A era digital revolucionou a forma como conceituamos e gerenciamos as informações geradas por projetos de pesquisa nas Ciências Humanas. A mudança de "dados analógicos" para "dados digitais" expandiu a maneira pela qual o conhecimento armazenado em espaços virtuais de acesso aberto pode ser preservado e compartilhado. Apesar disso, os dados provenientes de muitas coleções categorizadas como arqueológicas e/ou etnográficas emergem de um contexto no qual a propriedade intelectual, os direitos autorais, a governança e a soberania cultural são obscurecidos e transferidos dos criadores originais (ou de seus herdeiros) para o pesquisador científico. Analisamos o que são dados para o sistema de ciência e tecnologia, para a arqueologia em particular e para os povos indígenas, e refletimos sobre quem tem soberania sobre eles. Aqui, propomos trabalhar a partir de uma perspectiva colaborativa centrada no diálogo com as comunidades indígenas que possibilite a negociação consensual de diferentes maneiras de fornecer acesso e facilitar a governança sobre os dados digitais da história e da cultura dos povos indígenas. Essa é uma forma de reconhecer seus direitos e de contribuir para o processo de recuperação e visibilização cultural no qual muitas comunidades indígenas estão envolvidas atualmente.
