Abstract

Considerations and reflections regarding technologies in educational contexts are presented in this paper. A focus is made on mathematics education. The seeming immutability of school in front of new technologies advances, the importance assigned to these advances in the curricular documents and the policies of digital inclusion promoted by the government are mentioned. The
epistemological vision of humans-with-media is presented. According to such vision a central role is assigned to media for the production of knowledge. The connection between technologies and the production of mathematical knowledge and the relation between technologies and mathematics education are discussed. Finally a reference is made to pedagogical approaches in mathematical classrooms which are resonant with new technologies. An example of a mathematical activity developed in a learning environment with an experimental-technology approach is presented and analyzed.
