Abstract

The following production sets out to recover the origins and the development carried out in the beginnings of the field of science didactics in Argentina within the Latin American context until the 90's, attending to the application of public policies linked to science education, according to the predominant didactic models in each era.
To do this, it appeals for a historical narrative of a primary source, through series of interviews conducted with a central actor from the beginning of science education programs in our country. The result of interviews was complemented with written documents, photographs, curricular materials, conference proceedings, magazines, film material, among others, following what was proposed in a qualitative research methodology known as Life Stories. The historical perspective of this production has the purpose of enriching the development of a scientific field that is gradually consolidated today such as the science teaching. The same aims to make a contribution to the process of review, analysis and improvement of teaching and learning in initial and ongoing training of current teachers of natural sciences.
