Abstract

The objective of this work is to observe the phase shift between two ultrasound waves emitted by a piezoelectric transducer. The mentioned shift occurs in a device with characteristics similar to the Michelson interferometer. The design allows generating an air current that simulates the "luminiferous ether wind ", which was originally pursued in the experiment of Michelson and Morley. The experience introduces content on the theory of relativity and allows discussing and analyzing the variables that affect the interference when the wave medium moves with respect to the interferometer.
