Resumen

En este trabajo, revisamos diferentes propuestas para el desarrollo profesional docente y sus limitaciones, directamente relacionadas con la brecha entre la investigación y la práctica docente. Presentamos luego la idea de las comunidades virtuales de práctica como herramientas útiles para disminuir esa distancia y mejorar así la enseñanza de las ciencias, brindando algunas características a partir de nuestra experiencia en la constitución de una de ellas.
