The aim of the present study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Brief Resilience Scale (BRS). The sample consisted of 657 Ecuadorian adults. We evaluated internal and construct validity, internal consistency, concurrent validity, and measurement invariance was tested across sex categories. The results show that the structure of two first-order correlated factors presents adequate psychometric properties. Concurrent validity analysis shows that resilience correlates significantly with self-esteem, social support and quality of life dimensions. Finally, psychometric equivalence is evidenced between the models of configural, metric, scalar and residual invariance. The BRS scale is a reliable and valid instrument for research and clinical practice purposes in the Ecuadorian context.
