Abstract

The article aims to update the meaning and challenges of the University Reform of '18 for the current situation of the Argentine university communities. For this purpose, it analyzes documents prepared by both the National Interuniversity Council and the Council of Rectors of Private Universities, which are consistent with the central postulates of the Reform. From the recognition of the definitions of the century-old deed, in relation to the University-society relationship; The article warns that its philosophy, anchored to collective action, is currently threatened by the neoliberal discourse, against which it proposes a set of postulates in defense of the public, secular, free and excellent university.
