Abstract

The inclusion of the topic of environmental issues is both required in various educational policy documents and socially demand-ed and, given the gravity of the current world situation, it constitutes an urgent challenge for the practice of teaching. In this work, the results of a single case study based on a thematic content analysis about how environmental issues are addressed in the field of knowledge production in Physics Teaching are presented. The set of articles published in Spanish in the journal Re-vista de Enseñanza de la Física during the period 2015-2019 is taken as a discursive representation of this field. The results ob-tained indicate that there is a relatively low percentage of documents that address environmental issues, that in several cases it is only mentioned, and that its discursive representation is weak. However, the presence of some articles that raise environmen-tal issues in terms of specific proposals and that make some critical appreciation of it is also highlighted. In accordance with these results, we consider that it is necessary to promote and strengthen a comprehensive and critical approach to this subject in all its dimensions, building knowledge and proposals with particular emphasis on educational practice.
