Ethics Code and Editorial Policies

Revista de Enseñanza de la Física adheres to the COPE (Committee of Publication Ethics) best practice guidelines to ensure transparency throughout the editorial process.

FOR AUTHORS

Originality: The submission of a contribution to Revista de Enseñanza de la Física implies that it has not been previously published, nor is it under evaluation by another scientific periodical, and that all authors are aware of the content of the work and accept its authorship. Authors commit to submit original contributions, of their own authorship. Texts resulting from minor modifications of previously published work should be avoided.

Authorship and contribution: All persons who have contributed significantly to the preparation of the work submitted for consideration will be included as authors. Persons who have not contributed significantly to the work will not be included as authors, avoiding authorships only due to friendship or intellectual ties.

For any requested change regarding authorship, the guidelines proposed by COPE will be followed.

ORCID: for the sake of authorship transparency, authors are requested to provide their Open Researcher and Collaborator Identifier (ORCID).

Conflict of interest: Authors commit to make explicit to the editor any conflict of interest, financial or otherwise, that could imply a bias or influence in the results and conclusions of their papers.

Primary data: The data contained in the submitted papers must be truthful, avoiding any type of manipulation/modification of the same.

FOR EDITORS

The Editorial Committee pledges to respect anonymity between authors and reviewers, guaranteeing transparency in the review process and maintaining the confidentiality of the parties involved in the editorial process.

The Editorial Committee will assign reviewers in an effort to guarantee the maximum expertise in the subject of the evaluated work and the greatest celerity in the evaluation process.

Procedure for complaints and appeals: Complaint requests will be resolved by the Editorial Board who will also determine the instances to settle the problem. The complaint will be responded within 30 running days. Complaints should be sent to revista@famaf.unc.edu.ar

FOR REVIEWERS

Reviewers will act on a voluntary basis, with competence and adhering to the policies of the journals evaluation process.

In cases where there are conflicts of interest or impediments to the evaluation task, the reviewer agrees to communicate this situation to the Editorial Committee. The reviewer will respect the confidentiality of the information related to the editorial process.

Ethical Scrutiny and Plagiarism: Revista de Enseñanza de la Física publishes original papers that have not been submitted for publication elsewhere. The Journal is committed not to publish papers that contain any type of fraud (plagiarism, self-plagiarism, false data, etc.). Papers submitted will be thoroughly revised by the editors and reviewers, using Internet search tools, in order to detect plagiarism or self-plagiarism. If any anomaly is detected in this regard the reviewer/s will follow the following steps:

1 - Inform the editor of the suspicion of plagiarism.
2 - The Editorial Committee will investigate the case to determine if the plagiarism is evident or if the conflict does not exist.
3 - If plagiarism exists, the Editorial Committee will contact the author and request an explanation.

4 - If the authors explanation is not satisfactory the article will not be published.
