A relação universidade-empresa e a inovação no Brasil: diferenças e semelhanças em três regiões e setores industriais distintos
Abstract
Each day the achievement of the socioeconomic development demand more basic knowledge, highly qualified people and research to solve local problems. Public policies to stimulate university-industry interaction have been created to reach this demand; however, there still are obstacles to be overcome in order to have a virtuous interaction. This paper aims at illustrating these challenges trough two finished study cases on the pharmaceutical and technology of information industry, both science intensive, and another study case from a state University. The theoretical framework used on the qualitative studies was the evolutionary theory about innovation process and the literature on university-industry interaction. The results show that besides university important role in the cooperation to promote innovation, its potentialities to practise this role in Brazil are under construction and depend on strengthen of bridge institutions and the increase in companies’ R&D investments.
