Abstract

Conceiving urban space as a non-neutral construction leads to reflection on the fact that the planning and design of cities gives greater value and centrality to some activities over others. The present article sets out to analyze the problem of care as a critical node of a set of urban gender inequalities that have specific expressions in the territories of the City of Buenos Aires, and that also have a differential impact on the popular sectors. It is an objective to show the urban inequalities that derive from the prevailing sex-gender system, the omissions, but also to make visible the existence of concrete experiences of building strategies and community responses to these inequalities.
