Abstract

This paper presents a reflection about the social organization of time and movement in urban life as part of the exchange phenomena spanning the social practices and representations in the context of the current accumulation model. The organization of time and movement in urban life allow us to understand various factors in restructuring processes. The central case relates to the public holidays as a time management practices by the state, and aims to put into tension as its logics tend to subordinate or merge with the current capitalism and its constant flows.
