Plagiarism detection policy
Epistemología e Historia de la Ciencia publishes original work, which has not been previously published and is not under consideration by other journals, in whole or in part. Authors are requested to make a statement to this effect when submitting their manuscripts (see Guidelines for Authors). Exceptions are translations into Spanish or Portuguese of papers or materials originally published in other languages that the Editorial Board considers as suitable for the profile of this journal. Publication permissions for these translations must be handled by the translators.
All articles submitted will be thoroughly reviewed for the detection of plagiarism or self-plagiarism. Plagiarism is considered when authorship is omitted or not cited and/or when minimal changes are made to the text of a third party, and it is presented as original, or when there is a reference to its original authorship, but the source pages are inaccurately indicated. Self-plagiarism is considered when the appearance of a work is changed, and it is presented as if it were a distinct document, or when the indication that the work is a new version of another work that has already been published is omitted.
If plagiarism or self-plagiarism is detected, evidence of plagiarism will be sent to the author(s) and a response will be requested. If this is not satisfactory, the manuscript will be rejected and no new articles will be received from them for a period of three years.
