Abstract

The article synthesizes the role of the University Network of Distance Education in the preparation of the bill of the Ministry of Education of Argentina Res.2641-E / 2017. The main debates that took place around key issues in distance education are presented, presenting the central aspects of the new regulations. It stands out as a novelty that universities must have an institutional system of distance education which must be evaluated and accredited to be recognized and the distance careers that are presented for recognition must be in accordance with it. Finally, it is considered that without a doubt the new regulation opens new horizons with the incorporation of the evaluation of the institutional conditions that make good practices possible, although there are still challenges to face.
