Etiology of potato wilt in Cordoba

Abstract

Partial or tota- wilting of potato plants was observed in the crops nearby Cordoba city. This foliar symptoms was associated some times with necrosis of vascular and parenchymatic adyacent tissue of the stem , or with crown necrosis or cankers at different positions of the stem. In other circumstances necrosis of rootlet, roots, crown, stolons and tubers was present. In the first case, it was desmostrated trough pathogenicity test, that Fusarium oxyspor'um f. sp. tuberosi Sn. et H. was the causal agent. In the second, it was stablished the presence of Rhizoctonia solani Kühn. Wounds and tcothp:ck methods of inoculation with F. oxysporum f. sp. tuberosi, were the most, effective among all the methods tested.
