Abstract

The purpose of this article is to approximate, through a literature review, the research production in the field of the school library in Latin America, the United States and Spain. Initially, the methodological design used to track investigations is exposed. Next, the most outstanding concepts and categories are exposed in the researches explored. Subsequently, some aspects of territorial order are highlighted in the field of school library research, to end with the presentation of the main conclusions, findings and gaps found. This document is one of the products derived from the research Social Representations of the School Library, the Librarian and its relationship with the school: systematization “Go to the School Library”, conducted by the Research Group on Information, Knowledge and Society of the Inter-American School of Librarianship at the University of Antioquia.
