Abstract

The purpose of this article is to make a literature review of the scientific production in librarianship that has supported the conception of the school library and the librarian. It includes proposals in Latin America and the Caribbean that allow to analyze the case of Colombia. For its development is used the method of documentary research with the objective of generating an entry corresponding to a state of the art. This document is one of the products derived from the research Social Representations of the Librarian's School Library and its relation with the school: study of systematization in the School Library, carried out by the Research Group on Información, Conocimiento y Sociedad from the Escuela Interamericana de Bibliotecología of the University of Antioquia.
