The prevalence of information anxiety in the context of digital society is not limited to a specific sector but affects society as a whole (Bawden & Robinson, 2009). However, it is imperative to direct our attention towards a group particularly susceptible to experiencing this phenomenon: university students attending public universities. The methodology used for the development of this academic paper is a literature review aimed at identifying and examining previous studies on information anxiety, specifically those focusing on university students from public universities. Additionally, a detailed analysis of the previous studies identified in the literature review was conducted to understand the trends, patterns, and conclusions related to information anxiety in university students. The complexity of the topic is concluded, addressing it from different methodologies and how this pathology affects behavioral, emotional, physiological aspects, and the psychological well-being of the researched subjects.
