A Science Fair with history
Building a heritage archive for the Education Area of the National Museum of Natural History of Chile
Abstract
Science fairs are science outreach events organized by students to socialize unpublished projects they have worked on. They emerged at the beginning of the 20th century in the United States and from there expanded to Europe and Latin America. In Chile, the first experience was developed in 1970 at the National Museum of Natural History. After more than half a century of operation and with the aim of recognizing the historical importance of the National Youth Science Fair, a patrimonial archive was created to record its legacy, becoming a reservoir of memory for its thousands of participants.
