The university extension from the student perspective. The case of the Faculty of Information and Communication in Uruguay

Abstract

This article presents the results of a research that explores the perceptions and perspectives of the students of the Faculty of Information and Communication (FIC) of the University of the Republic (Udelar) regarding their outreach experiences throughout their careers. Through a survey of experiences from the period 2018-2021, the design of a self-administered survey disseminated among the participating students and the implementation of a discussion group, the motivations and forms of learning, the particularities of teamwork, the time required by these proposals, the ways of relating theory and practice, the teacher-student bond and with social actors, the forms of evaluation and the implications of the pandemic and the health emergency in the development of the experiences are analyzed.
