Abstract

Ecocritical studies, “green criticism”, started towards the end of the 20th century with the purpose of analyzing the relationship between human beings and nature and the ways in which the natural environment is represented in literature. Environmental criticism allows, however, re-readings of works that have been produced prior to the ecocritical turn. These productions advocate for a reappraisal of nature and a bond between humans and the environment. The proposal thus consists of a comparative analysis of three Latin American poets Gabriela Mistral, Alfonsina Storni and Juana de Ibarbourou from an ecological perspective.
