Abstract

Don Quixote de la Mancha, Cervantes' novel, has been a source of inspiration for many later authors. Creators of microfiction were especially inspired by hisir adventures, among them the Argentine writer Marco Denevi. Denevi’s Falsifications frequently recreate various Quixotic episodes; and don Quixote, Sancho, and Dulcinea are central characters in the author’s minimal stories. As we shall see, humor and irony are dominant features of these stories.
