Recelo vs. entusiasmo: las tecnologías digitales en la transmisión de la cultura de origen a los niños de familias inmigrantes

Resumen

Esta investigación pretende contribuir al conocimiento sobre el papel de las tecnologías digitales en el mantenimiento y transmisión de la identidad cultural de las familias que forman parte de los flujos migratorios contemporáneos. Las actitudes parentales y las estrategias educativas sobre las tecnologías en familia son determinantes para que los más pequeños puedan mantener su cultura y lengua de origen y desarrollar su propia identidad. Se trata de  un estudio con enfoque cualitativo orientado a la comprensión a través de las percepciones de las familias participantes de este fenómeno coetáneo. Los datos han sido recolectados mediante entrevistas en profundidad con familias inmigrantes brasileñas residentes en los Emiratos Árabes Unidos. Se ha creado una base de datos a medida para el análisis de los resultados, que permiten concluir que el papel de las tecnologías digitales en la transmisión cultural entre las familias inmigrantes es aún menor y poco explorado, pero muy prometedor y evidencia todavía un largo recorrido.
