El objeto de “The Education Systems of America” apunta a una ambiciosa y comprensiva exploración de los sistemas nacionales de educación de países del Norte, Centro y Sur de América reconociendo el carácter global de las características de la educación y adopta como premisa que un análisis comparado requiere conocer los caminos de desarrollo distintivos que han informado las estructuras organizacionales contemporáneas en diversos contextos nacionales. Este eje común informa las contribuciones de especialistas nacionales contribuyendo con capítulos para cada uno de sus correspondientes países. De este modo, el libro ofrece una consistente narrativa que permite una aproximación sofisticada a la descripción de similitudes y divergencias de sistemas educativos enfrentados a los desafíos globales de la educación contemporánea desde diferentes trayectorias y realidades institucionales.
