Art. 278, first paragraph (Concealment. The relatives in ascending and descending line and the collateral relatives in second degree are exempted from penalty for the above mentioned crime. Art. 279 warns that such exemption from punishment shall be understood as long as the concealment has not been made for a price or by participating in the effects of the crime). N° 2. Provision in which the word "brothers-in-law" is found. In the preceding enumeration, the provision in which the word "brothers-in-law" is found must be added, since "brothers-in-law" belong to the category of affines and precisely to the "collateral affines in the second degree" indicated in Art. 278, first paragraph, mentioned above. The provision to which we refer is that of art. 185, para. 3, which includes, among the persons who are exempt from criminal liability for theft, fraud or damages that they cause to each other, brothers and sisters-in-law, if they live together.
